Welcome

Welcome to Pittington Parish Council Web Site

The civil parish of Pittington is situated approximately 5 miles to the north-east of Durham City. (Click here to view a map of the area)

Pittington is made up of the neighbouring settlements of Low Pittington and High Pittington.  High Pittington, the larger of the two, has extended to include the older settlement of Hallgarth which is home to the mediaeval church of St Laurence, once the second seat of the Bishop of Durham.

The civil parish of Pittington includes both villages together with the neighbouring settlement of Littletown which is one of the smallest villages in Durham.

The web site is currently being upgraded and comments are welcome.
